Party Animals

One day when I was chatting with my mom about my fear of making new friends when I moved, she gave me a piece of advice that her mother gave to her: “In a room full of gray, show up in red. Be the first to stick out your hand and say hello.” So when I’m nervous, I wear red. I nervously say hi. If I were a squirrel showing up to a raccoon party, I’d don a mask to fit in and also be in red to stand out. Duality, baby.

Party Animals was one year in the making. It measures 2 ft by 2 ft is painted with oil on stretched Belgian linen. It will come framed at no additional cost in a black frame.
